Looking for the best shops in Putney? Whether you’re moving to the location or just here for a visit, it’s always useful knowing what shops are in the area!

If you’re travelling to London or looking for the best neighbourhood in the city, you’ll want to know where the best towns are and what they involve.
Living in Putney (in my biased opinion) is one of the best areas in London, and one of the best things? The shops in Putney.
No, we don’t have a huge shopping mall, but we do have the Putney Exchange, cute local markets, tons of restaurants and bars, a few clubs, endless pubs…and we’re right next to the River Thames.
So, without further ado, let me explain the best shops in Putney.

Supermarkets in Putney
Let’s start off with where you get your fruit and veg from.
One of the best things about living in Putney is the number of supermarkets we have. You have you more expensive Waitrose, then your cheap as chips Lidl.
On Putney High Street, there is a…
- Tesco Express
- Sainsbury’s
- LIDL
- Waitrose
On Upper Richmond Road (perpendicular to Putney High Street)
- Waitrose (Next to East Putney Station)
- Co-Op (Next to East Putney Station)
New here? 🤩 Yay! I’m so glad you’ve found me.
I’m Jennie, and I specialise in helping travel newbies step out of their comfort zone and see more of the world (aka, live their best lives).
My blog was created from my love for travel and the aim to get you on the road with nothing but confidence and a whoooooole lot of excitement 🥳.
Short on time? Here are some of my travel must-haves!
- A portable power bank: don’t get caught short and lose your phone battery whilst travelling! If you’re solo travelling, you’re going to rely on it to get you from A to B.
- A wheelie backpack: I invested in my first wheeled backpack a year ago and I am NOT looking back. Gone are the days when I lug 20kg round on my back!
- Filter water bottle: So many countries have undrinkable tap water. This water bottle allows you to drink water from any tap, stream (or even puddle!) safely AND you’re saving the environment!
- Worldwide travel adapter: A must have if you’re travelling to multiple countries!
- Speakers: Want to make friends in your hostel room easily? Be the one with the music.

As I said, Putney doesn’t have a big mall like its neighbours Wandsworth and Kingston, but it does have the Putney Exchange and the high street.
Clothing shops in Putney include:
- H&M
- TK Max
- Mountain Warehouse
- A number of charity shops along Putney High Street
- Sports Direct

If you need more to add to your shopping addiction, Wandsworth, Kingston and White City all have big shopping malls, with Westfield only being 20 minutes away.
🇬🇧 TOP TRAVEL BUY: I use my Insta Mini 11 to take photos on all of my trips. As they print instantly, they’re perfect for making a scrapbook and writing in all your favourite and funniest memories. I’ve even got my boyfriend joining in on it now too!
